Ministry Bound is a ministry of Ironwood using the camping ministry to teach
individuals desiring to go into camp work the philosophy, principles, and
purposes of camp through practical classes, hands-on ministry experience,
and exposure to a dedicated camp staff. The purpose is to train and equip
godly camp workers for the glory of God.
Ministry Bound is a one or two year program designed
for college graduates who desire to use and develop their skills for the
purpose of working in a camping ministry. Learning will occur in weekly
meetings in which members of the Ironwood team will explain philosophy and
specific areas of camp in which they are involved. Participants will take a
camp “field trip” once a semester to examine other camps, and will join
Ironwood team members on an assortment of meetings and trips that they will
take. Participants choose a specific concentration in which they will work
and serve while learning more about camp. They can choose from program,
operations, people services, camp philosophy, and office. The program is
designed to immerse a person in the camping ministry, by allowing him to get
practical hands-on training in a particular area while at the same time,
using the things he has already learned.
